DATE OF BIRTH: 12/4/1948
PLACE OF BIRTH: Constantinople
OCCUPATION: Federal coach of Weightlifting, businessman
CLUB: Panathinaikos

He has been a great name of Greek sports during the decay of ’70, while he got distinctions in a lot of organizations. A little bit earlier, in 1967 and in 1968 he achieves the Worldwide Cadets Record in develop, to which he was the best. However, as a coach of the Greek weightlifting national team, he wrote the most glorious pages concerning the event of strong men. From the 68 medals Greece has won (until 2004) in men’s world championships, 66 were won under the instructions of the “Commander-in-Chief” and the other two were won by he himself as an athlete. In his days, the national team of Greece took twice the first place in world championships as far as the rating is concerned, 1998 and 1999, while they were first in weightlifting medal gathering at Atlanta’s Olympic Games. Even today, he remembers that one mistake he did in 1972 in Munich’s Olympic Games –he ignored his coach- cost him the bronze medal.

He really enjoys oriental cooking. He was elected best athlete of the year in 1971, 1972 and 1975.

He’s got a son, Alexandros.
